This matters, because it decides who you ask about what.
For candidate and examination data we are a processor. The awarding body is the controller. They decide what is collected and why, and we act on their instructions. If you are a candidate, a parent or a teacher and you want to see, correct or delete records, ask the awarding body that entered you. We will help them, but the decision is theirs.
For this website and enquiries we are the controller. If you fill in the contact form, we decide how that enquiry is handled.
Deliberately not very much:
We do not ask for addresses, dates of birth, photographs, payment card details or any special category data.
The contact form. Your name, email address, phone number if you give one, your organisation's website if you give one, and your message. We use it to reply to you and nothing else. We do not add you to a mailing list and we do not sell or share it for marketing.
Analytics. We use Plausible Analytics, self hosted on our own servers. It does not use cookies, does not follow you between websites, and does not collect anything that identifies you. That is why this site has no cookie banner.
Cookies. If you sign in, we set a session cookie so the system knows you are signed in. It is strictly necessary for the service to work and is removed when your session ends.
Data is held on servers in Manchester, United Kingdom, provided by Hostinger International Ltd. It is not transferred outside the United Kingdom.
Each awarding body's data is separate. No awarding body can see another awarding body's candidates, entries, results, syllabus structure or exam dates.
Perform Data Track is run by one person, who holds administrator access to the servers and database in order to host, maintain and support the system. That is true of any hosted software. It is used for support and maintenance, and we say so here rather than leave you to assume otherwise.
Candidate and examination records are kept for as long as the awarding body needs them, as set out in our agreement with that awarding body. Awarding bodies often have their own retention rules for assessment records, and theirs take precedence. Enquiries sent through the contact form are kept only as long as they are useful to answer.
Under UK data protection law you can ask to see the personal data held about you, have it corrected, have it deleted, restrict or object to how it is used, and receive it in a portable form.
For candidate and examination records, send that request to the awarding body, because they are the controller. For anything to do with this website or an enquiry you sent us, write to info@performdatatrack.co.uk and we will respond within one month.
If you are not happy with how we have handled it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
If we change how any of this works we will update this page and change the date at the top. If the change is significant and affects an awarding body using the system, we will tell them directly rather than relying on you noticing.
